Jude at 12 Months

 Our little Chaddy

Here are a few photos from Jude's photo shoot.  He is so cute. I will post some more.

Jude was such a trooper this last week when he got his shots at his 12 month wellness check up. I hate it when he gets his shots because I don't like to see him scream, it just breaks my heart. He was tough! So it has been rough lately because every since he got his vaccinations last Tuesday he has been feeling pretty sick. He had a fever for 4 days. I have never felt him so hot and miserable from his shots. He didn't sleep well either, he woke up too many times because of his fever. Poor little guy. Finally yesterday, on Saturday his fever was better but he still had a slight fever and he slept much better that night except that he wouldn't fall asleep that little punk! I put him down for bed 3 times! Sunday his fever was gone I think. He didn't feel hot when he woke up. He woke up not too happy though so he wasn't up very long before he took his nap he is still under the weather a bit. He broke out in a rash all over his tummy and back, today. I was worried at first that he was getting a mild case of the chicken pox because he did get that vaccination. I think he will be fine though because he seems to happy to be sick with the chicken pox. After I talked to the nurse I was comforted. She said that it is common to get a rash after the vaccinations. So I think he will be fine, just a mild rash. We will see how he is tomorrow. Hopefully he just keeps getting better. When is this going to end!

Jude is such a fun little boy. I sure enjoy him so much. He is just walking around the furniture right now. He will stick to crawling for a bit, I think, since he took longer to really take off. His rash was gone with in a few days, luckily. He was being a little punk at his photo shoot a few days ago, being a little grumpy boy the second day we tried to get pictures. We are lucky we got some happy faces out of him. I thought we would get some cute pictures of him eating this fruit tart and he took one bite and spit it out. I guess it was that good. Ha ha! Everyone still says that Jude is a wise soul. When we go out in public he is just busy observing everything and taking it all in. Tonight I went out to dinner and a lady asked how old he was and she said that he is a wise soul and that he is so smart! Well, that's my boy I love him so much!

Ha ha! Just love this. So funny! Liam and Jude

No more bottle

The first day without the bottle was a success! I am so proud of my little boy! I know that he misses it. He went all day without any milk because there was no bottle. He finally gave in at the end of the day and tried drinking out of the sippy cup before I put him to bed. He worked so hard to drink out of it. He got frustrated but he didn't give up. So proud of him! He just needs more practice and then he will get use to it. Wahoo! I was starting to wonder if he would never try it.

Happy Birthday Jude

Jude turned one year old on April 9th! I can't believe a year ago today this sweet sunshine came into my life. I never knew I would love him this much. Chad and I love you so much son! Happy Birthday to you! I want to do everything I can as your Mother to help you be the best that you can be. I am so grateful to have you as my son. Love your Mommy:)

We celebrated Jude's Birthday yesterday on Easter with the Family. We appreciate everyone's love and support, and gifts. Jude was spoiled by all his grandparents and aunts and uncles. Thank you! Thanks for
celebrating this moment with us.

It was fun to see Jude dig in and eat his banana bread cupcake. He loved it! And we love him so much!

Blendtec Breakfast

Nothing like a yummy and healthy smoothie in the morning. I make one of these green smoothies every morning since I got my new blender. My blendtec has changed my life:)

This was the best Valentines gift from my hubby! Thanks babe! I am not the only one that loves these smoothies. I love Jude's green face! He can't get enough of it! I can't tell what Jude loves more the smoothie or drinking out of a straw! Ha ha!

I really am grateful for this blender because our family has been eating better ever since I got it.
Go ahead and trying making your own green smoothies and drinks especially if you are not a salad lover, you will be glad that you did. You don't need a fancy blender either to make these yummy drinks. It is amazing how much better I feel and how much energy I have when I fuel my body with the foods that it needs. The more healthy food you put into your body the more you will crave it and want it. The other day Chad told me that he missed his green drinks in the morning and that he has been going through withdrawals and that he hasn't felt as good.

This green drink really does taste better than it may look if you balance it with the perfect amount of fruit and veggies. This smoothie is a darker green because I added a cup of frozen berries to it.

In this drink I put in: a pear, 3 cuties, the little clementines, a cup of berries, 1 cup of orange juice, 1 slice of a lime, 1 frozen banana and about 2 cups of greens maybe a little more. I did a mixture of kale and spinach.

I like to use kale because it has the most nutrients than any other green plant. It is high in several important nutrients but it is mostly known for its B vitamins and vitamins A, C, K and E. It is rich in the minerals iron and calcium. Kale has a distinct taste, it doesn't taste as good as spinach does in a green drink. It kind of has a broccoli taste to it. By adding a little bit of lime to the smoothie makes it taste better. You can hardly taste the kale when I add in lime. Spinach is also a good source of calcium, iron, the vitamins B, folate, K, A and protein. Plants do have protein, you don't have to get it from animal products.

April Fools

So I played a great April fools joke on my Husband Chad today, almost as good as last years when I was pregnant. It was good, because I so had him and it was believable. I told Chad that I wanted to go back to working. I told him that I missed teaching more than I thought and that it has been hard being home all the time with Jude. I said that Mountainville Academy has a job opening and that they want me to come back. Ha ha! He totally fell for it and was sad. This is so not true. I love being home raising my son. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else and I feel so blessed to not have to work so that I can give our son Jude the best, which is his Mommy! I know that it is possible to work outside of the home and balance motherhood, and some may choose to, but I would not choose it. I don't know how they do it! I feel like it would be hard for me to give 100% at both jobs if I was working still. I think it is a sacrifice to have a Mother in the home with her children. I am grateful that my husband Chad works so hard to provide for our family so that I have this opportunity to be home nurturing and caring for our son. Chad and I feel very strongly that it is important that one of us is there in the home watching and raising our children. We appreciate all of our family and friends love and support and for helping us with Jude and with being a new Mom and Dad. I love being a Mother! There is nothing more rewarding.
